wagered by both opponents less 10%.
Step 1
The first step required by all players joining ChessStars.net is to install a copy of Microsoft Silverlight,
our application runs on Silverlight therefore all applicants must have a viable copy of it installed on their computer.
Step 2
Please ensure that all pop-up blockers are disabled from your computer as our chess application pops up in a new window.
Step 3
In order to play a Credit Game you must purchase credits. Simply click on the Buy Credits link in the top right corner which will guide to the page where you may make a purchase. On this page you may purchase credits using your secure PayPal account or using a credit card.
Step 4
You may now create a credit game by selecting the Chess Room tab, followed by the Credit Game tab and then New Credit Game. Here you can choose the game type, prize amount, and speed. We recommend the turn time for a Credit Game be no more than 30 seconds in order to prevent cheaters.
Step 5
Once you have made a game Credit Game there is an alert sound that goes off once someone is ready to play. You may check the players Elo rating to make sure that this opponent is suitable and press Accept. Once both players are ready to play the game will commence.
** Please note we had to limit the time per turn in order to avoid cheaters, therefore once your turn time runs out your opponent receives a second turn. Also if a player is in check and he/she does not move before her turn time is up the game is considered forfeited. **
